[Local Contribution Project – Wish on A Star]

The players association of the Yokohama DeNA BayStars engages in a project called “Wish on A Star.” In this project, the players visit primary schools in Yokohama and talk with pupils about dreams. The purpose of these school visits is to make children realize the importance of having a dream through dialogues with the players who have made their dreams come true.
The project kicked off in 2005, and the team has made a total of 118 school visits by 2012. In this project, the Yokohama DeNA BayStars, working in conjunction with the Yokohama City Board of Education, is seeking schools interested in such visits through the Yokohama City Primary School Principals Association.

Yokohama F-Marinos is doing many things to please and surprise the fans who come to the stadium to watch the games. In these efforts, a major role is played by Nissan Stadium volunteers and the members of the Yokohama F-Marinos support staff team build by F-Marinos in the 2010 season. At every home game, about 120 volunteers are at work in the stadium in the same spirit as club officials to make sure that the game is going to be a fantastic experience for the fans who turn out to watch the team play.

[Game Stewards]

The Yokohama FC home game support volunteers are called game stewards (GSs). Their main activities are providing information on the facilities inside and outside the stadium, cleaning the stadium and its perimeter, guiding people in wheelchairs to wheelchair-accessible seats and distributing and snatching off tickets.
The volunteers work together with the staff of Yokohama FC to make sure that fans enjoy not only the game but the atmosphere of the stadium as well. Through these activities, they support Yokohama FC as GSs. Anyone who is interested in becoming a GS is welcome to join the members for hands-on experience!

Yokohama B-Corsairs
[Volunteer Crew]

What is indispensable for holding a Yokohama B-Corsairs home game is the cooperation of volunteer crew. In the site setup work, which usually starts early in the morning, members of the crew build a court, put up stands and decorate the site with B-Corsairs ornaments. Although the work involves a lot of physical labor, many crew members of different ages and professions work together to make preparations for the game. Once the game begins, they make sure that the fans who’ve come to watch the team have a good time. After the game is over, they immediately go about the dismantling work while celebrating the victory or lamenting the defeat in their minds. What they do is no easy job. The power of the many crew members devoted to working for the team plays a vital role in holding every Yokohama B-Corsairs home game.
