2014 season team slogan
In December 1998, the Yokohama Fulie Sports Club was founded, which would run Yokohama FC later. The club joined the Japan Football League (JFL) in 1999 that was launched the same year.
After winning the league title in two consecutive years, Yokohama FC entered the J. League in 2001.
This season marks the third year since Manager Motohiro Yamaguchi joined the team. Members of Yokohama FC are making all-out efforts to attain the goal of gaining promotion to J. League Division 1, something that has eluded the team since the 2007 season. The team’s slogan for this season reflects their strong determination to become a J1 club.

Yokohama FC Seagulls
Yokohama FC Seagulls, formed in February 2013, won the championship in Division 1 of the Kanagawa Prefecture Women’s Soccer League in the 2013 season. Having moved up the ladder to compete in the Kanto League this season, members of the team are now working devotedly to play in the Nadeshiko League.
Yokohama FC Yokohama Port Cup
The Yokohama Port Cup is one of Yokohama FC’s home town projects. The club hosts this tournament to give people with disabilities an opportunity to connect with society, promote sports for the disabled and help the disabled interact with a wider section of the community and live in a broader social environment.
About 200 players from 18 teams participated in the 6th Yokohama Port Cup held in 2013 and staged exciting games throughout the tournament.
Have Fun with Coaches of Yokohama FC! – School Visit Programs for Hamakko Fureai School and After-School Kids Club
Yokohama FC has cooperated with the Yokohama City government since 2001 in supporting the Hamakko Fureai School and After-School Kids Club activities in the city. Coaches of the Yokohama FC Academy introduce the fun of soccer to children through playing with the soccer ball.
In 2013, the coaches visited 80 elementary schools in Yokohama City and met and interacted with quite a few children. Their passion remains equally ardent in 2014. They are all keen to visit as many schools as possible and convey the joy of sports to as many children as possible through soccer.
