Since the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake on March 11, Japan has been overwhelmed with buzzwords such as tsunagari (relationships) or kizuna (bonds) and people are realizing the importance of communities built by local people.
Nowadays, sports are not just for maintaining health or developing physical strength, but for achieving a new role to connect local people and solve regional challenges.
The key to achieving this goal is creating a comprehensive community sports club.

A comprehensive community sports club is a place where people of different ages can enjoy various types of sports that is close to home and easily accessible. Being operated by the community makes the clubs unique among other sports clubs. Yokohama City has twenty-one comprehensive community sports clubs currently in operation.
1. Multigeneration
The club provides an environment where people of all ages can come together to be active.
2. Variety of programs
Some clubs offer not only sports programs, but cultural programs as well
3. Independent operation
The club is operated by the community. Training, administration, and public relations are managed by the people of the community. The opportunity to use your special skills is open to everyone.
